The same herb can carry very different amounts of its active compounds, depending on the soil it grew in, the season it was picked, how it was dried and how long it was stored. Tradition gave us the right herbs. Precision makes sure they reach you at a known, consistent strength.
An everyday exampleहल्दी
Turmeric powders average under 6% curcuminoids by dry weight, and the figure shifts with the variety and how it was grown. Standardised turmeric extracts used in research are made to contain 95%. Same plant. A very different, measured strength.
Turmeric is used here only as a familiar example.

Imagine the kadha from your kitchen, then imagine every step measured, recorded and repeated exactly. That is how a standardised herbal extract is made.
01 पहचान
Every herb begins with its true name. The correct species, and the correct part — root, leaf, fruit or bark — confirmed before anything else. A look-alike plant is simply not the same herb.
02 समय
Plants change with the seasons, just as our elders observed. When a herb is picked shapes how much of its useful compounds it carries. Right herb. Right time.
03 शुद्धि
Washed, dried at a controlled temperature, then ground to a coarse powder, so nothing spoils and the extracting liquid can reach every cell. Like a khal-batta, at scale.
04 निष्कर्षण
Think of a kadha, done with precision. The powder steeps in a chosen liquid, water or a water–alcohol blend, at a set temperature for a set time, and the herb’s compounds move into the liquid.
05 सांद्रण
The plant fibre is filtered out. The liquid is then concentrated under vacuum, which lets water evaporate at a lower temperature and helps protect delicate compounds.
06 चूर्ण
The concentrate is dried, often by spray drying, into a fine golden powder. This powder is the extract: many kilograms of herb can become a single kilogram.
07 मानकीकरण
A lab instrument such as HPLC measures a marker compound in every batch, and the batch is adjusted to a declared value. This is what “standardised to X%” on a label means.
08 परीक्षण
Before it reaches a capsule, a quality extract is tested for identity and for contaminants such as heavy metals and microbes, and the results are recorded on a certificate of analysis.

An extract gathers the compounds of many leaves into a small, concentrated amount. Its strength is written as a ratio and a percentage, so you know what you are taking instead of guessing.
